Forum index
I've added a very very very basic design to the forum index which sort of matches the homepage idea which Otacon has made. It's just to get us started so if you want to change anything at all then just change it. Whether that's the banner, the background, the table's body background colour, the general colours of the pages, the chatbox, the icons, anything...change it.
Post any ideas here for the forum index aswell, to try and make it look cooler and different from the main site.

Yeah logo then.
Otacon, I'm on the iPod right now and the forum page edges are almost touching the sides of the screen. Is that the 960px? It's not a problem if that sorts out the screen issue.
Re: Forum index
yeah its the 960px..
when you say almost touching the sides of the screen.. is that a good thing or bad thing on the ipod. I dont have mine to check at the moment.

No one panic if you see a duplication of the top bar during the day.. am messing with that during my spare time at work..
am working on the whole shibang (top bar) to cover 100% of the page width. including nav bar.. juss like in design.

Not sure if that's good or bad really. I am assuming that will also apply to my small screen laptop, I'll have to check.
I can't see any of the background really. (well a tiny tiny bit)

before it was 960px, when we had it at 85%, where the forum edges touching or what?

85% would look the same for everyone as it covers 85% of the screen. No they weren't touching.
Also, maybe remove the way I put the banner in because that shows at the start before the page fully loads.

85% is different on screens.. as its a percentage of the screen res width
ie. 85% of 1600px and 85% of 800px will be totally different, considering what will be in a div tag at the time. Its good and bad at the same time depending on which area of the site is being set a percentage eg forum width / nav bar / youtube boxcontainer etc. As you saw on that youtube vid how 85% shows on my screen. This is because content will stretch and shrink depending on which screen its on.
If you wanna try it.. make forum width to be 85% [ test it on active site actually, am sure its width is set in percentages] then view the forum, it will appear ok.. after that pretend you are viewing the forum on a smaller screen by making you browser window smaller gradually and check the behaviour of the forum content.. especially the Log out [ Usename ], Search bar, the date areas below the nav.. you will see that they move inwards and outwards, as you reduce and increase the page (its easier to do on a big screen).
I am by no means saying 85% is bad in this case .. we juss need to find the medium to accommodate all screens to see the forum properly. I will check on my ipod later on today. Can you tell me you resolution as well, will connect my smaller screen and set it to that.. and see how you view the page

Yeah, but everytime I load a page I see the logo in it's original position for a second (also a black background) then it quickly jumps up the page to the new position.
I was wondering if you could remove that first stage with the original logo and black background so the first thing that loads is the new version you have made.
Re: Forum index
I was highlighting/explaining that coz I didnt know how to remove it as well lol. Thought if I juss mentioned it, someone would get the hint to remove it as I dunno

Ok, would it not just be a case of removing the logo and headerbar work I did yesterday? I could probably do that now if you want?
Re: Forum index
I've fixed that little thing. The black background or old logo position will no longer show.
Re: Forum index
Added a blank image where the old logo was.
Adding a few extra pixels to the height didn't change the white gap, it just made the little grey gap between the new space (future navbar) you've added and the white gap larger.

Yeah you did.
I have reduced it by 5 pixels.
Re: Forum index
Looks like the new navbar is coming along nicely.
I noticed when I came to the site and wasn't logged in it still showed 'no new messages' 'profile' etc.

Re: Forum index
yeah you are right... that's something we will have to trouble LGForum about, as i don't know how to deal with login/logout sessions in this case. Hard to decipher the code. Juss gonna deal with the behaviour of active link and hover action.. then will pass it over to him.
